What’s the story?

It’s been a long time apart my dear blog. While I have to say it’s needed, I have missed it quite a lot.

My blog got deleted and everything with it and i’ve been struggling to get back into my mojo until the other day, I was sat at work and al I wanted to do is blog.

So what i’m saying is…i’m back folks.

So what has been going on lately?

I’ve been swamped with large amounts of work and so finding time to actually sit down and write is a problem. Mainly because i’m trying my best to not spend time on my computer when I get home from work. I don’t want to turn into some writing robotic machine 12 hours or so a day!

But here’s a few things:

I re-found Bruce Springsteen

I was brought up on the Boss – Hungry Heart was always on the playlist on road trips when I was younger. But of course time goes on and The Killers start touring or some other band releases an album and the old favourites get pushed to the back of your playlists. But after picking up the Boss’ autobiography all I want to do is listen to Downtown Train and go and see the man live again.

You can’t go wrong with a bit of the boss!

I met two ultimate travellers – astronauts

The Kelly brothers are quite honestly the most inspiring people you will ever meet. From suddenly deciding they were going to become astronauts and working hard at getting there, they taught me and probably everyone else in the audience that the world is your oyster.

If there’s one thing I really took away from the talk, it’s their message of worrying about what you can control and blocking out worries or concerns that there is nothing you can do about. Something I definitely need to take on board!

I should be in China right now

Yep. I was meant to go to China for a little while, freelance for some people including a big agency that would have been a massive deal. The visa failed, I ran out of time and suddenly the trip was off.

I’m not going to pretend that I wasn’t upset by not going. I had plans to meet up with friends, go to the tennis and just get back to speaking Mandarin every day. But there is nothing I can do about it.

Thankfully the flights can be re-booked and I have just rescheduled them for the end of March. I’ll be there for two weeks and will do some catching up and am thinking of visiting somewhere I have never been before. Exciting!

My aunt was here from Australia and we went to the Tower of London

I’ve never been to the Tower of London before, mainly because of the hefty price tag but it was so much fun! There were lots of things to look at including re-enactments. I was told that they used to behead one of Henry VIII’s wives but didn’t get to see that one!

I’m going to Paris for Christmas

Yes I am so excited! Me and my mum found a bargain deal for spending Christmas in a four star hotel near the Louvre! So Christmas is going to be extra special this year with a trip up the Eiffel Tower on Christmas day and a possible trip to Disneyland Paris on boxing day. We’re going to have to wrap up warm but it’s going to be awesome.

What have you been up to lately dear reader?
